State police are investigating a fatal accident that took the life of a 20-year-old Fairport woman on Tuesday.
Police responded to area where they stated that Kaylee Rizzo-Brien, of Fairport, fell off of a horse at 2799 Lyon Road in the town of Palmyra. The incident happened around 3:30 p.m.
According to police, Rizzo had suffered severe trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. She was not wearing a helmet.
The investigation is continuing at this time.
The Penn Yan Lady Mustangs (4-15) basketball team won the opening tip off last Tuesday. They also won the fourth quarter. But when the final buzzer sounded the top-seeded Newark Reds had won easily 60-27.
Newark senior Sabrina Macaulay needed only three quarters to rack up a career-high 27 points.
