  • Traffic complaint leads to DWI arrest MACEDON — A Fairport woman was charged July 26 with following too close, failure to maintain lane, open container, driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated, Macedon police said. Nancy L. Mowers, 48, was charged while police were investigating a vehicle and traffic complaint called in on Route 31 in the village of Macedon, police said. Police stopped the alleged vehicle and investigation revealed that Mowers was allegedly operating her vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Mowers was also allegedly in possession of an open container and was drinking in the vehicle. Her blood alcohol content was .19 percent. Mowers was processed and released to a third party. She is to appear in Macedon Village Court on Sept. 25 to answer the charges.
    Woman arrested after disturbance call MACEDON — A Walworth woman was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent, Macedon police said. Megan G. Gunio, 19, was charged after police responded to a disturbance call in the area of Wildflower Drive in Walworth when police observed Gunio getting into her vehicle near the school parking lot, patrol stopped Gunio on Waterford Road and investigation revealed that she was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, police said. Gunio was taken into custody and breath test results revealed that she was intoxicated and had a blood alcohol content of .14 percent. She was processed and released to a third party and is scheduled to appear in Macedon Town Court on Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m. to answer the charges.
    Man charged with DWI MACEDON — A Utica man was charged Aug. 2 with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated, fail to keep right and inadequate exhaust, Macedon police said. George M. Penree, 32, was stopped on Route 31F in Macedon for failing to keep right and loud exhaust, police said. Investigation revealed that Penree was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Her blood alcohol content was .20 percent. He was processed and released to a third party. Penree is to appear in Macedon Town Court on Sept. 3 at 4:30 p.m. to answer the charges.
    Man charged with burglary and criminal contempt LYONS — A Lyons man was charged July 20 with second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal contempt and aggravated family offense, New York state police said. Kenneth G. Vankoevering Jr., 38, of 2168 Brandt Road, Lot 10, allegedly forced his way into the residence of a former girlfriend in violation of a court order of protection, troopers said. Vankoevering was arraigned in the Lyons Village Court in front of Village Justice Larry Hartwell. He was sent to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail and scheduled to return to the Lyons Town Court on July 23 at 8:30 a.m.
    Child injured in boat accident HURON — A child was injured when two boats collided head on while on Sodus Bay June 21, Wayne County sheriff’s deputies said. Lyjha Wilton, 36, of Rochester, was operating a 19-foot boat along the shoreline of Sodus Bay in the area of Third Creek when he was blinded by sun glare and could not see a sailboat moored just ahead of him, deputies said. His boat struck the sailboat head on and the bow of Wilton’s boat was forced up and his four children were ejected from the boat. The children were wearing flotation devices, and Wilton jumped in and pulled them out of the water. His 4-year-old son suffered a broken leg and some minor abrasions. Wilton was issued a ticket for operating an unregistered boat. He is scheduled to appear in Huron Town Court at a later date. Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Coast Guard in Sodus Point and North Rose, Alton and Sodus Point fire departments.
    Page 2 of 10 - ATV operator charged WALWORTH — A Walworth man was charged June 28 with driving while intoxicated, driving with a blood-alcohol content of .08 percent or more, operating without a helmet and operating an ATV within 100 feet of a dwelling between 12 and 6 a.m., Wayne County sheriff’s deputies said. Jacob M. Allen, 27, of 2153 Walworth-Penfield Road, was stopped after he was allegedly seen driving an ATV down the sidewalk in Walworth and found him to be under the influence of alcohol, deputies said. He was issued appearance tickets for Walworth Town Court and released.
    Woman charged with growing pot SODUS — A Sodus woman was charged June 25 with endangering the welfare of a child, growing cannabis by an unlicensed person and unlawful possession of marijuana, Wayne County sheriff’s deputies said. Patricia G. Faulkner, 26, of Belden Avenue, was charged after Child Protective Services reported a 4-year-old child was leaning out a second story window, deputies said. In the course of their investigation, deputies allegedly found Faulkner was allegedly growing marijuana plants. She was arraigned in Sodus Town Court and released on her own recognizance.
    Men charged with allegedly stealing diapers NEWARK — A Sodus man and a Newark man was charged June 29 with petit larceny, Wayne County sheriff’s deputies said. Ronald R. Brantley II, 25, of 41 Mill St., Sodus, and Andrew M. Range, 26, of 122 Bryant Ave., Newark, allegedly stole a pack of diapers from the Dollar General in Newark, deputies said. They were arraigned in Newark Village Court. Range was released on his own recognizance and Brantley was sent to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail.
    Man tries to flee deputies MACEDON — A Marion man was charged June 27 with unlawfully fleeing a police officer, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failing to stop at a stop sign, speeding, passing in a no passing zone, failing to comply and reckless driving, Wayne County sheriff’s deputies said. Ryan Robert Levitsky, 20, of 4138 Marion East Williamson Road, allegedly failed to stop for deputies when they tried to stop him for speeding, deputies said. He was located a short time later and taken into custody. He was arraigned in Macedon Town Court and sent to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail.
    Woman ticketed after MVA WALWORTH — The Wayne County sheriff’s office reports an investigation of a personal injury motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Canandaigua Road and Route 441 in Walworth around 6:12 p.m. in Walworth. A car northbound on Canandaigua Road being operated by Victoria H. Rothwell, 44, of 366 Browncroft Road, Rochester, attempted to cross Route 441 and was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Ashley L. Wright, 28, of 295 Webster Road, Webster. Both operators sustained minor injuries. Wright was transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. Rothwell was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way. Assisting deputies at the scene was the West Walworth Fire Department and Walworth Ambulance.
    Page 3 of 10 - Erratic driving leads to DWI arrest ONTARIO — Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Jeffrey D. Anderson, 57, of Greece on July 13. Anderson was operating a vehicle westbound on Route 104 and was reported by civilian complaint for erratic driving. He was stopped by deputies for failure to stay in his lane, and was subsequently arrested for DWI. Anderson was issued traffic tickets and is to appear in Ontario Town Court at a later date.
    Man arrested for stealing beer ONTARIO — John E. Galutia Jr., 41, of Ridge Road in Ontario, was arreted for petit larceny on July 13. Deputies were called to the report of a larceny of beer from the Pit Stop in Ontario. After an investigation, deputies located the subject at a nearby residence. He was issued an appearance ticket to the Ontario Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Man arrested for DWI WOLCOTT — Wayne County Sheriff Deputies arrested Eric S. Allen, 46, of 3699 Route 370, Cato, for driving while intoxicated on July 13. It is alleged that while pumping gas at the Fast Trac gas station on Route 104 in the town of Butler, Allen was observed staggering around and appeared to be highly intoxicated. Pursuant to a traffic stop on Route 104, Allen was arrested for driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated while having a BAC of .08 percent or greater, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and having a dirty, unreadable license plate. He was arraigned in Wolcott Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail and is to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Accident leads to DWI charges PALMYRA — Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of David P. Schroo, 56, of 1103 Vienna Road, Palmyra, for driving while intoxicated after he was involved in a motor vehicle accident in Palmyra on July 14. Schroo was northbound on Vienna Road and while going around a turn, left the roadway overturning his vehicle and landing in a stream. Schroo was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a BAC of .08 percent or greater, moving from lane unsafely and speed not reasonable and prudent. After being processed, he was released with tickets. He will appear in Palmyra Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Woman arrested for DWI ARCADIA — Francesca D. Keppen, 47, of 4243 Ridge Chapel Road, Marion, was arrested for driving while intoxicated on July 14. Keppen was observed by Wayne County Sheriff Deputies in her vehicle pulled over on the shoulder of Route 88 in Arcadia. Deputies stopped to verify with Keppen if her vehicle was disabled and needed assistance. While talking with Keppen, it was determined that she was operating her vehicle while intoxicated. She was arrested for failing to use hazard lights while parked on a public roadway, driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated with a BAC of .08 percent or greater. She was transported to Wayne County Safety Building for processing and released on tickets. She is to appear in Arcadia Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Page 4 of 10 - Man arrested for marijuana possession PALMYRA — Following a traffic stop in the town of Palmyra, Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Joseph M. Tubiolo, 32, of Midland Drive, Webster, on July 14. It is alleged that while speaking with Tubiolo, deputies were alerted to the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded four sandwich bags containing marijuana and 20 oxycodone pills. Tubiolo was arrested for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was arraigned in Marion Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He will appear in Palmyra Town Court at a later date to anwser the charges.
    Man charged with resisting arrest PALMYRA — Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Cody S. Brown, 20, of North Main Street, Marion, on July 16, after he was observed operating his motorcycle on Route 21 in Palmyra at a very high rate of speed. Brown fled when deputies attempted to stop him. He was followed to his residence by deputies and fought with them when they were taking him into custody. Brown was charged with speeding, third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, operating out of class and resisting arrest. Brown was arraigned before the Palmyra Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail. He is scheduled to appear before the Marion Town Court and Palmyra Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Rochester man arrested on bench warrant ROSE — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of William B. Collier, 33, of 763 N. Goodman St., Rochester, on July 16 on a bench warrant out of the Rose Town Court. Collier was stopped by the Newark Police Department in the village of Newark during an impact detail and turned Collier over to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office custody. It is alleged that Collier failed to appear in the Rose Town Court for a petit larceny charge. He was arraigned in Rose Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail and is to appear in court at a later date.
    Woman arrested for unauthorized use of vehicle SODUS — Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Elizabeth A. Baker, 24, of 64 Maple Ave., Sodus, on July 17 on an arrest warrant for third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Baker turned herself in at the Sodus Police Department and turned over to deputies. She was arraigned in Sodus Town Court and released on her own recognizance. Baker is to appear in Rose Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Man arrested for alleged stalking MACEDON — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Scott P. Parsons, 34, of Macedon Center Road, following an investigation into an alleged violation of an order of protection. Deputies arrested Parsons on a warrant for first-degree criminal contempt for allegedly stalking the person listed on the order of protection. He was arraigned in the Macedon Town Court and released on his own recognizance, but remanded to the Wayne County Jail with no bail for a violation of probation charge. Parsons was additionally charged with fourth-degree stalking and is to appear in Macedon Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Page 5 of 10 - Men escape serious injuries in boat accident SODUS BAY — The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff investigated a boat accident in which four young men escaped serious injury after the boat they were in crashed into the east/west portion of the East Breakwall at the entrance of Sodus Bay. The crash occurred around 11:26 p.m. July 3, about one hour after the Sodus Point fireworks display had concluded. The boat, a 1999 20-foot Crownline inboard/outboard, was being driven by Tyler J. Ocwieja, 19, of 29 Hampstead Drive, Webster, on a plane in a northerly direction on Sodus Bay when it struck the stone and concrete breakwall. Ocwieja suffered a laceration to his arm and was treated by EMS personnel on scene and released. He was charged with boating while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a preliminary breath test, reckless operation of a vessel, operating at more than 5 mph within 100 feet of shore and second-degree reckless endangerment. He was arraigned in Huron Town Court where he was release and is to appear in Sodus Town Court at a later date. The passenger riding in the open bow of the boat, Liam E. Wheatley, 18, of 105 Mory Hill Drive, Penfield, was ejected from the boat and thrown over the breakwall and landed in Lake Ontario. He sustained an ankle injury and was treated and transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for further treatment by the Sodus Town Ambulance. Michael A. Dodge, 19, of 204 Bay Way Drive, Webster, and Nicholas C. Pizzicuto, 19, of 28 Witherspoon Lane, Rochester were passengers in the rear of the boat and were thrown about in the boat. They were checked by ambulance crews and released. Deputies were assisted by the US Coast Guard Station Sodus Point, water rescue crews from Sodus Point, Alton and North Rose, as well as ambulance crews from Silverwaters, Sodus Town, Alton and North Rose fire departments.
    Man charged with forcible touching, burglary GALEN — The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reports the arrest of Patrick M. Sampson Jr., 24, of Glasgow Street, Clyde, on July 10 following an investigation into a burglary and forcible touching that occurred in the town of Galen. It is alleged that Sampson entered a residence on Tyre Road without permission and proceeded to grab a female in the residence in a sexual manor. He was charged with second-degree burglary and forcible touching. He was arraigned in Galen Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail. He will appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Rochester man arrested for DWI, marijuana PALMYRA — Philip M. Hovey, 32, of Laser Road, Rochester, was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, refusal to take a breath test, failure to keep right and unlawful possession of marijuana. Hovey was operating his vehicle west on Route 31 and was observed by a Sheriff deputy swerving and crossing the centerline on July 4. Hovey was stopped and after a police investigation, was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was arraigned in Palmyra Village Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail. Hovey will return to court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Page 6 of 10 - Man arrested for resisting arrest SODUS — Wilfredo Santana, 49, of Ridge Road, Sodus, wsa arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest on July 7. Santana was intoxicated outside his trailer, yelling and swearing after being told by police several times to quiet down. Santana fought with deputies when being taken into custody. He was arraigned in Sodus Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail. He is to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Woman allegedly found with drugs SODUS — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Rebecca L. Southcott, 20, of Carlisle Street, Rochester, for unlawful possession of marijuana, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substance by ultimate users original container. Southcott was found to be in possession of an Oxycodone pill, Hydroxyzine and marijuana following a vehicle and traffic stop on July 7. She was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Sodus Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Man arrested for harassment, criminal contempt PALMYRA — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Damian Brantley, 22, of 27 Elmer St., Lyons, for first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harrassment on July 8, after he allegedly violated a refrain from order of protection after an altercation with his girlfriend whom the order protected. Brantley was later located and arrested. He was arraigned in Palmyra Town Court and held without bail. He will return to court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Man arrested after motor vehicle accident WILLIAMSON — Richard L. Yackel, 19, of 4928 Brasser Road, Williamson, was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for endangering the welfare of a child and permitting unlicensed operation after an investigation into a property damage motor vehicle accident on July 19. While investigating the accident at the intersection of Brasser Road and Townline Road in Williamson, it was determined that Yackel had allowed his 14-year-old sister to operate his motor vehicle while he was a passenger. The vehicle was then involved in an accident. Yackel was transported to Williamson Town Court for arraignment and released on his own recognizance. He is to return to court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Man arrested on multiple charges ONTARIO — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jeffery V. Smart, 37, of Ida Red Lane, Ontario, for second-degree harassment, two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred July 23 at a residence on Ida Red Lane where Smart allegedly got into a physical altercation with two of the residents. Smart was arraigned in Ontario Town Court and remanded to jail in lieu of bail. He is to return to court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Man arrested for harassment, resisting arrest SODUS — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Russell J. Jock, 49, of 7448 Ridge Road, Sodus, on July 7, for second-degree harassment, criminal mischief and resisting arrest. It is alleged that Jock came home in an intoxicated state, broke the door jamb of his home, then went in and ripped the bra off his wife who was sleeping. While being taken into custody, Jock attempted to fight with the deputies. He was taken into custody, arraigned in Sodus Town Court and held in lieu of bail. A refrain from order of protection was issued at court. Jock will appear in Sodus Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
    Page 7 of 10 - Lyons man arrested on multiple charges ARCADIA — Joseph A. Barber, 19, of 11A Canal St., Lyons, was arrested July 17 by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, third-degree escape and unlawful possession of marijuana. The charges stem from the investigation of a domestic dispute that occurred at the Vienna Road trailer park. During the investigation, Barber became combative with the deputies. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He then fled from deputies after being handcuffed and fought with deputies a second time. Barber was arraigned in Newark Village Court and committed to the Wayne County Jail on a $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond. He will appear in Arcadia Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Man arrested after domestic dispute WILLIAMSON — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Dennis Conklin, 41, of Shepherd Road, Williamson, following a domestic dispute on July 20. Patrols were called to the residence where it was alleged that Conklin broke items in the house and then began swinging a shovel in the immediate area of his wife and their child. Conklin was subsequently arrested for third-degree menacing, endangering the welfare of a child, and fourth-degree criminal mischief. He was arraigned in Williamson Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He is to return to court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Man asleep at the wheel, charged with DWI ONTARIO — A Williamson man was arrested for driving while intoxicated on July 24, after Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Kenyon Road in Ontario. Upon arrival, deputies observed Dan C. Ross, 30, of Lake Road, Williamson, asleep at the wheel while it was parked partially in the roadway, running. After it was determined that Ross had consumed alcoholic beverages, he was arrested and charged with parking on the roadway, operating a vehicle with a BAC of .08 percent or greater. He was issued appearance tickets to Ontario Town Court at a later date.
    Man arrested for erratic driving, DWI ONTARIO — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Brian D. Smith, 26, of Church Street, Walworth, on July 19. Smith was operating a vehicle southbound on Furnace Road and was reported by civilian complaint for erratic driving. He was stopped by patrol for a headlight that was out, and subsequently was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was issued traffic tickets for aggravated driving while intoxicated and the traffic violations and is to appear in Ontario Town Court at a later date.
    Accident sends driver to hospital WALWORTH — The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff investigated a one-car automobile accident on Fosdick Road in Walworth on July 28, that resulted in injuries to the driver. Deputies say that Brayden Riel, 18, of Plank Road, was traveling north on Fosdick Road when the vehicle he was driving went off the road and struck a tree. Riel was trapped and had to be extricated by the Lincoln Fire Department. He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for his injuries. Alcohol is believed to be a factor and the accident is still under investigation. Deputies were assisted by the Lincoln Fire Department, Rural Metro Ambulance and Northeast Quadrant Advanced Life Support.
    Page 8 of 10 - Tractor-trailer hits car ONTARIO — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation of a two-vehicle personal injury accident that happened July 26 in the town of Ontario. Cristy Bell, 28, of Knickerbocker Road, was northbound on Knickerbocker Road at the Route 104 intersection. Bell entered the intersection to make a left turn onto Route 104 westbound. Her vehicle was hit by a tractor trailer heading eastbound on Route 104 that allegedly failed to stop at the red light. The tractor trailer was operated by Cheryl Boucher, 60, of Rochester. Ontario Fire and EMS responded to the scene. They were assisted by Union Hill EMS. Bell was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by the Ontario Ambulance and Boucher was transported to Rochester General by Union Hill Ambulance. Boucher was issued a traffic citation for failing to stop at a steady red light.
    Children injured in accident ONTARO — The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reports the investigation of a personal injury motor vehicle accident on July 25 at the intersection of Ridge Road and Fisher Road in Ontario. A pickup truck southbound on Fisher Road, operated by Nicholas M. Bailey, 26, of 2463 Welch Road, Geneva, was attempting to cross Ridge Road. Bailey’s truck was struck by a vehicle eastbound on Ridge Road, operated by James J. Petrotta Jr., 41, of 2850 Ridge Road, Williamson. Bailey’s truck overturned on impact and before coming to rest struck a third vehicle operated by Diana G. Holbein, 57, of 320 Route 21, Palmyra. The passenger in Bailey’s truck, Nicole R. Ribis, 21, of 28 Antis St., Canandaigua, was transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Petrotta and his children, Jordan R. Burke, 15, and Kaitlin E. Petrotta, 10, were also all transported by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Bailey and Holbein were not injured. Bailey was ticketed for failure to yield right of way. Assisting the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office on scene was the town of Ontario Fire Department and Ambulance and town of Williamson Ambulance.
    Man arrested for harassment, endangering a child WALWORTH — The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reports the arrest of William D. Boas, 39, of Atlantic Avenue, Walworth, on July 27, for endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment. Boas was intoxicated and began to argue with his girlfriend. He grabbed her by the hood of her sweat shirt, leaving a red mark on her neck. Boas’ 4-year-old son was present during the argument and it is alleged that Boas attempted to take his son out of bed to leave with him. Boas was arraigned in Walworth Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He will return to court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Newark man arrested for aggravated DWI ARCADIA — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Steven J. Castonguay, 48, of Trout Run, Newark, on July 26, for aggravated driving while intoxicated. He was arrested after he lost control of his vehicle on Hydesville Road in Arcadia, causing him to go into a ditch on the north side of the roadway. Castonguay was issued tickets for driving while intoxicated, driving with a BAC over .18 percent, failure to keep right, failure to maintain designated lane and unlicense operation. He was released on tickets and is to appear in Arcadia Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

Banker, 24, of Maple Ridge Road, Marion, on July 26, for driving while intoxicated/BAC, failure to reduce speed special hazard, moving from lane unsafely and failure to stop for stop sign. The arrest stems from the investigation of a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Ridge Road and Route 88 in Sodus. Banker was issued tickets and released, and is to appear in Sodus Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Man arrested for felony DWI SODUS — Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies arrested James R. Jeffery Jr., 45, of Prospect Drive, Palmyra, on July 26, for felony aggravated DWI/BAC, failure to keep right and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. The arrest stems from a vehicle and traffic complaint originating at the Burger King in Williamson. Jeffery was stopped by deputies on Maple Avenue in Sodus. He was issued traffic tickets for Sodus Town Court and released. He is to return to court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Man charged with resisting arrest SAVANNAH — Jeremy L. Stanley, 23, was arrested by Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies for second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. The Sheriff’s Office was contacted by New York State Police attempting to locate Stanley after he cut off his ankle monitoring device and did not report as instructed. New York State Parole had information that Stanley was staying at a residence on Hadden Road in Savannah. When parole officers and deputies arrived, Stanley attempted to flee out a back window until officers surrounded him. Stanley crawled back into the residence and after repeated instructions to come out, he attempted to hide in a bedroom. When officers entered the bedroom, Stanley would not comply with orders and had to physically be taken into custody. Stanley was taken to the Wayne County Jail on his parole warrant. He was issued appearance tickets to Savannah Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
    Woman sustains minor injuries in roll-over crash WOLCOTT — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports a personal injury motor vehicle accident on July 26 on Route 104 in Wolcott. Morgan Bills, 19, was operating her vehicle eastbound on Route 104 when she attempted to pass another car. According to witnesses, there was traffic headed westbound at the same time Bills was passing. She moved back into the eastbound lane and went off the roadway causing her vehicle to roll over once. She was transported to Upstate Medical Facility in Syracuse by South Butler Ambulance as a precautionary measure due to the nature of the accident. She sustained minor injuries. The investigation into the accident will continue. Sheriff’s deputies were assisted by the town of South Butler Ambulance, Lakeshore Ambulance, Macedon medics and the Red Creek Fire Department.
    Page 10 of 10 - Two-car accident sends drivers to Strong WALWORTH — A personal injury automobile accident occurred July 26 in the town of Walworth. Kayla Byler, 25, of Wolcott was westbound on Route 441 when she stopped, awaiting for another car ahead of her to turn into a driveway. Devin Williams, 22, of Ontario, was westbound on Route 441 and failed to see traffic stopped ahead. Williams drove his vehicle into the rear of Byler’s car, causing damage to both vehicles. Walworth Fire and EMS and Wayne County ALS responded to the scene. Byler and Williams were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with injuries and later released.
