WALWORTH — Susie C. Jacobs CMC, RMC Town Clerk of Walworth received recognition for completing the Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) program at Cornell University in Ithaca.
This is the highest level of training offered for Municipal Clerks. Only 17 Clerks in New York state have completed the Master Municipal Clerk program.
A July 18 article in “Newsday” says of the municipal clerk’s role, “Officials say it is a profession evolving as laws change and one where schooling or prior work experience is insufficient preparation.”
Jacobs was also asked to return next year to instruct in the CMC program and looks forward to offering her knowledge to other clerks.
CMCI is a premium educational opportunity provided by a partnership between the City and Village Clerks, the Town Clerks Association of the state of New York, New York State Association of Clerks of County Legislative Boards and Cornell University’s Community and Regional Development Institute.
