Newark—Ella V. Clingerman returned to her Lord on Aug. 23, 2013 at the Wayne County Nursing Home.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 26 at the Schulz-Pusateri Funeral Home, 103 Maple Ct., Newark, with The Rev. Patricia Brown of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Newark, officiating. Burial will be in East Newark Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the church.
Ella was born on March 4, 1927, in Lyons, the daughter of Frank and Marie (Jones) Foster. Ella graduated in 1945 from Lyons High School. She was married to James Clingerman in 1946. Ella retired from Montgomery Wards after working many years as a book keeper in the Newark and Geneva stores. She enjoyed nature, reading and gardening.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Faye (Steve) Donahue and James (Katina) Clingerman; daughter-in-law, Judy Clingerman; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose DeCook, Marion Ormsbee and many nieces and nephews.
Ella was predeceased by her son, Thomas J. Clingerman in 1993 and her husband, James in 1994; two sisters, Elizabeth Sams, Harriet DeCook and brother Charles Foster.
