A man was struck and killed while pushing his car on Route 490 Thursday night, according to police.
A former soldier was struck and killed while pushing his car on Route 490 Thursday, Aug. 29, according to police.
Monroe County Sheriff's Office say Sgt. Darren Manzella died near Exit 25 when he was hit while pushing his car following a separate crash.
Manzella was discharged from the military in 2008 for "homosexual admissions." Since his discharged, he was a vocal critic of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy which has since been rescinded.
His funeral will be held at Saint Dominic's Roman Catholic Church in Brocton starting at 11 a.m.
