Jamie Goossen of Walworth and Christopher Healy of Wolcott graduated from The College of Saint Rose during a commencement ceremony held on May 11. Goossen earned a Master of Arts degree and Healy earned a combined Bachelor of Science/Master of Science degree.

SUNY Oswego honored more than 600 incoming students with merit scholarships. Outstanding first-year students are offered Presidential Scholarships $18,800 ($4,700 a year for up to four years), Deans' Awards ($1,500 a year for up to four years) or $3,000 Merit Awards ($750 a year for up to four years).

Nicole Darling of Williamson and Dyan VerSchage of Ontario were inducted into Kappa Delta Pi, an international education honor society, at Nazareth College during the spring 2013 semester. Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education, founded by Dr. William Bagley in 1911 at the University of Illinois, was established to foster excellence in education and promote fellowship among those dedicated to teaching.
The following local students graduated from SUNY Buffalo State during a commencement ceremony held in May. Pamela Allyn, Palmya, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology; Marissa Schmidt, Savanna, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in social work; Erin Spencer, Newark, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in metals/jewelry.
Taylor Sittig of Palmyra was named to the dean's list at Villanova University for the spring 2013 semester. Sittig is studying mathematics and statistics in the university's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. To be named to the dean's list at Villanove University, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or better.
Erin Breen of Palmyra will study at Regents University this fall in London, England. Breen, a junior majoring in business administration with a marketing emphasis at Susquehanna, is a 2011 graduate of Palmyra Macedon High School. She is the daughter of David and Karen Breen.
Taryn Dibble of Walworth graduated from Siena College during a commencement ceremony held on May 19. Dibble earned a bachelor's degree in psychology.

Jade E. Thompson of Ontario, State Farm Insurance in Baldwinsville; Kevin M. Stein of Palmyra, FixingFox Inc. in Pittsford; Jordan A. Burnett of Wolcott, NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C. The Experience-Based Education program at Oswego places students in internships and career awareness opportunities that allow them to earn college credits while garnering valuable life experience.
Ryan Clark-Sulkey of Newark participated in Explore Your Future, a six-day career exploration camp at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf on the RIT campus in Rochester. Explore Your Future helps students and their parents decide what majors and careers may best interest them, the experience also allows many to meet others their ages who have similar backgrounds. Evening activities included visiting an amusement park, bowling, and a dance. Clark-Sulkey is an incoming senior at Rochester School for the Deaf in Rochester.
