  • Newark—Rocco "Rocky" Scutella, died on Sept. 5., 2013, at Strong Memorial Hospital.
    Friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 E. Miller St., Newark. Father Felix Dalimpuo will celebrate with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Sept. 9 at St. Michael Church, S. Main St., Newark. Entombment will be in White Haven Memorial Park. Those wishing may make a contribution in Rocky's memory can do so to the America Heart Association, 3500 Winton Place, Rochester, NY 14623.
    Mr. Scutella was born August 21, 1933, in Newark, the son of Michael and Angeline Rossi Scutella. Upon graduating from Newark High School in 1952, he entered the U.S. Army where he served two years in Korea during the conflict. Rocky was a member of the August Mauer Post American Legion and St. Michael Church. Rocky worked for the Geneva/Rochester Labor Union #103. He enjoyed his dogs, hunting and fishing and tending his lawn. He was a great fan of the New York Giants, the Yankees and horse racing.
    Rocky is survived by his wife of 57 years, Florence (O'Brien); two sons, Steven (Donna) of Rochester and David (Laurie) of Webster; three grandchildren, Jamie, Joseph (Palmateer) and Nick Scutella; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, John, Domonic and Nicholas; and sisters Helen Balick, Josephine Kopp and Mitilda Lenhart.
