  • ‘A Night in the Slammer, a Day in the Clink’ to be shown at museum

  • LYONS — An original play, “A Night in the Sla.m.mer, A Day in the Clink.” written by Larry Ann Evans and Anne Salerno for the Wayne County Historical Society will be performed Sept. 13 through 15 at the museum.
    “A Night in the Sla.m.mer, a Day in the Clink” is a progressive play that will lead the audience through a voyeuristic journey through the museum as pieces of history from the old jail come to life. The play highlights five former criminals from the Wayne County Jail from 1860-1956. Audience members will even be served a Jailhouse meal of beef stew, cornbread, cider and dessert.
    The cast is composed of Jenifer Albanese, Travis Anstee, Alex Calvo, Jacob Gifford, Gregory Maddock, Mikayla Mayo, Alan Nesbitt, Matthew, Eleanor & Jacob Owen, Ron Smalls, Lt. Steve Sklenar, Stuart Smart, Emily Snyder (Lyons), Sarah Adkins, Katie Brinkman, Chris Davis, Hugh Mater, Diana Mourey, Dave Perry (Newark), Judy Zanin (Palmyra) and Pat Fisher (Clyde).
    The show will be Sept 13-15. Friday show times are 5 p.m., 6 p.m., 7 p.m. & 8 p.m. Saturday available show times are 5p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.. The Saturday 6 p.m. show is sold our. Sunday available show times are 12 p.m., 1 p.m. & 2 p.m. Tickets are adults $20, Seniors and Students $15.
    There are only 10 seats available for each show. Reservations are required for all shows by calling the Museum at 946-4943. Payment must be made by Sept. 10. No tickets will be sold at the door.
    This new play concept is an exciting way to experience theatre up close and personal, giving you a behind the scenes look at life at the old jail. The show features criminals and their captors from the 1800s to the 1950s.
