LYONS — On Friday, Sept. 13, Eureka Grange will honor eight World War II veterans from the Lyons area.
The evening will begin with a social time at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. A program about Eureka’s activities during the war and presentation of certificates will conclude the evening. Certificates are provided by National Grange, Washington, D.C. Honoring these veterans this year is a Grange project across the country.
Those veterans receiving recognition are Floyd Bailey, Earl Buchanan, Edward Comella, James Fabino, Jack Frond, Michael Lese, Donald Sunderville and Dominic Zieno. If anyone knows of other World War II veterans in Lyons, call 946-4379. On display will be a picture from the war era showing several local boys serving at that time.
Grangers and friends are invited to attend this special evening for honoring the men who served their country during World War II. Bring a dish to pass and table service for the dinner. The Grange hall is at the corner of Canal and Phelps streets in Lyons.
