  • Select Choir to perform at festival

  • PALMYRA — The Palmyra-Macedon High School Select Choir will be among the performers at this year’s Canaltown Days, to be held Sept. 14 and 15 in Palmyra.
    The ensemble will perform at the gazebo at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, Sept. 14. The group will open with “The Star Spangled Banner”, which will be followed by their annual rendition of “The Erie Canal”. Other selections will include Paul Basler’s “Gloria”, “April is in My Mistress Face” by Thomas Morley, “Now My Heart” by Jacques Arcadelt, and more.
    In preparation for a year full of music making, the Select Choir Booster Organization will be sponsoring several upcoming fundraisers. The fifth annual Silent Auction will be held in the High School cafeteria on Thursday, Oct. 24 beginning at 2:30 p.m. Items to be auctioned include gift cards, jewelry, baked goods, services, and much more!
    The District Choral Concert will follow the auction at 7:30 p.m. Madrigal Dinner ticket sales begin on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 7 a.m. The dinner will take place on Dec. 14 and 15, and advance tickets are required. Madrigal Dinner tickets are $25 each, and include a multi-course meal, skit, and full choral concert.
