New awards from Child Care Council Inc. will recognize the critical role that high-quality child care plays in the lives of young people.
The Council announced today that it is accepting nominations for its inaugural Start Bright Impact Awards, which will honor outstanding child care success stories. These awards are intended to pay tribute to special child care achievements – specific accomplishments that can be attributed to the wonderful work of child care providers. Successes can be recent, or they can come from adults who previously attended a child care program and credit their success to the support they received from their child care provider.
Nominations can come from providers who have helped a child achieve success, from individuals who attribute a success later in life to his or her child care provider, or from parents who attribute a child’s success to their child care provider.
“Without question, high-quality child care has a tremendous impact on a young person’s life,” said Child Care Council CEO Barbara-Ann Mattle. “Whether in a family or group family child care home, or in a child care center, child care providers help give children a chance to start bright.”
The Council currently is seeking nominations for these awards, which will be presented at the Council’s Start Bright Gala, October 23, 2013, at the RIT Inn and Conference Center. Nomination forms, available online at (www.childcarecouncil.com), must be received by September 13, 2013.
