MACEDON — Macedon Public Library, 30 Main St., Macedon, will present Trash to Treasure Art, using recyclables to make treasures from trash.
The art classes will be taught by Amy O’Connor, a local resident and art teacher, and are open to participants age 15 to adult. Class size will be limited to 20 participants. There are three projects scheduled for the fall and three more for the spring.
On Oct. 5, residents can attend Magazine Silhouettes, utilizing colorful pages from old magazines to create a 9-by-12 backdrop on which a cutout silhouette pattern will lay. On Oct. 26, residents can attend Envelope Books, utilizing old envelopes and sewing notions for holding keepsakes, photos, and more, just in time for gift giving or remembering the holidays. On Nov. 16 and 23, guests can create a rolled paper ball, utilizing colorful old magazine pages, to serve as an ornament or a small bowl.
All classes will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Community Room. Cost is $3 per class. Classes are made possible by a grant from the Friends Endowment of the Macedon Public Library. Registration is requested. To register, stop by the library or call 986-5932, ext. 108.
