  • NEWARK ó Newark Elks Lodge No. 1249 recently held it's first Dice Run to benefit Cerebral Palsy and ENF. Lodge members, Jeff Tellier and Paul Golding, coordinated the event which included designated stops for the bikers and riders, prizes and a chicken barbecue.
The run began at Newark Lodge and went on to five stop points including; Jose & Willy's in Canandaigua, Middletown Tavern in Naples, Don's in Canandaigua, Vonnie's Boathouse Bar & Grille in Geneva and Bubba's Roadhouse in Sodus. The participants returned to the Newark Lodge to claim the various prizes which ranged from $100 first place won by Rex Wray and a 'consolation surprise' given to Michael 'Buzzard' Krebbeks. Several door prizes and gift cards donated by area merchants were also awarded as everyone enjoyed the chicken barbeque and talked about planning next year's event.
Tellier thanked Paul Golding, Peggy Mares, Erin Brink, Chris Odett and Maggie LaMotte for their help in making the event a success.
The proceeds from the Dice Run will be donated to Elks National Foundation and will be used to meet charitable goals of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks which include support of veteran, youth and community groups.
