NEWARK — Foodlink, Rochester's regional food bank, announces changes to its October program. Customers purchasing in Newark will still be able to order a la carte items of quality, meats, poultry, cheese and produce at discounted prices but will also be able to purchase a 12-item "unit" at a cost of $16.95. The "unit" will include 2 -8 ounce bags of shredded cheddar cheese, 12-ounce (8 count) hot dogs, 1-pound bacon, 1-pound (5 count) Italian sausage, 2 pounds french fries, a 4 ounce hot pocket, a 7.25 ounce box mac-n-cheese, a 16 ounce bag elbow macaroni, a 24 ounce jar pasta sauce, a 10 ounce jar or canned fruit, a 15 ounce canned vegetable, and a 2 pound bag white rice.
The October delivery date will be Thursday, Oct. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Newark American Legion. Orders must be placed in person at Catholic Charities of Wayne County, 1141 E. Union St., Newark. Deadline for orders is Wednesday, Oct. 9 by noon. Payment may be made in cash, money order, or food stamp EBT/SNAP.
