Police: Man pawned stolen property
MACEDON — A Macedon man was charged with third-degree burglary, a class D felony, and petit larceny, Macedon police said.
Anthony E. Meier, 23, was arrested following an investigation, which revealed that during the month of July, Meier unlawfully entered his neighbors garage and took an ATV battery, lawn tractor battery and a weed trimmer, police said. Meier then pawned the items for cash.
Meier was arraigned in Macedon Village Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to reappear in court on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.
Deputies: Crash investigation leads to DWI charge
MANCHESTER — A Wayne County woman was charged Wednesday by Ontario County sheriff’s deputies with driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident and not wearing a seatbelt.
Deputies said Casey J. Wendt, 30, of 36 Fulton St., Clyde, was charged following a one-vehicle rollover crash on Armington Road in Manchester. Deputies allege Wendt left the scene of the crash and was located at a residence on Route 21.
Finger Lakes Ambulance personnel responded for a check-over, and Wendt refused transport to a hospital, deputies said. Wendt went by private vehicle to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital for treatment, where she consented to a blood draw, deputies said. She was subsequently charged and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Town Court.
Man arrested for assault, endangering a child
SODUS — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Benjamin A. Sharp, 17, of 5416 Ridge Road, Sodus, on Sept. 4, after a physical altercation between Sharp and a female acquaintance.
The altercation took place on Benton Place in the village of Sodus after Sharp picked the girl up from Sodus School. He was arrested and charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
He was arraigned in Sodus Town Court and remanded to Wayne County Jail in lieu of $1,000.
Sodus man arrested following domestic dispute
SODUS — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a man following an investigation into a domestic dispute on Sept. 5. Rigoberto Espinoza-Aguilera, 29, of 25 West Main St., Sodus, was arrested and charged with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.
It is alleged that he struck two of his family members while at his residence.
He was arraigned in Sodus Town Court and sent to Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail. He is to return to court at a later date to answer the charges.
Man bites hand during domestic incident
ONTARIO — Dennis Young, 22, of Wealthy Lane, Ontario, was arrested following a domestic dispute at his residence on Sept. 6.
Young allegedly bit the right hand of another person in the residence. He was charged with third-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor.
He was arraigned in Ontario Town Court and remanded to Wayne County Jail on $500 cash or $1,000 bail bond. He is to return to court at a later date to answer the charge.
Man arrested following investigation
ONTARIO — The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reports the arrest of a Walworth man following an investigation Sept. 6.
Joshua C. Pierson, 22, of 1491 Hennessey Road, Walworth, was arrested for second-degree criminal contempt at the Wayne Central High School football game after he was observed to be in the company of his girlfriend who currently has a Stay Away Order of Protection against him.
Pierson was arraigned in Ontario Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail. He is scheduled to return to court at a later date to answer the charge.
MVA results in traffic tickets
WALWORTH — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigated a personal injury motor vehicle accident in the 4800 block of Route 350 in the town of Walworth on Sept. 3.
Katlynn Cleveland, 19, of Ontario, was traveling northbound on Route 350 and while entering a curve, crossed over the center line going into oncoming traffic lane. Cleveland, who was distracted by her vehicle radio, attempted to swerve back into her lane, losing control of her vehicle. Her car left the roadway on the east shoulder striking a utility pole and fire hydrant. She suffered a minor injury to her leg and was treated at the scene and released.
Cleveland was issued a traffic summons for driving left of the highway markings and will appear in Walworth Town Court at a later date.
Assisting the deputies at the scene were the Ontario Volunteer Ambulance, Lincoln Volunteer Fire Department, Walworth Volunteer Fire Department and the New York State Police.
Incarcerated man gets additional charges
GALEN — The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reports the filing of two more charges on a person already incarcerated in the Wayne County Jail.
Sheriff’s deputies charged Albert J. Webber Jr., 32, of 282 Whiskey Hill Road, Clyde, with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon resulting from the culmination of a robbery investigation that occurred in the village of Clyde in July. It was alleged that Webber used a 12-gauge shotgun in the robbery of three Clyde teens. Webber is a convicted felon and is not allowed to possess firearms. The other charges laid was fifth-degree possession of stolen property, stemming from the deputies finding the proceeds of a burglary that occurred earlier in the summer at Fink Road in Arcadia.
Webber was remanded back to the Wayne County Jail where he is being held with no bail. His case is expected to be heard by a Wayne County Grand Jury.
Unsafe lane change causes accident
ONTARIO — The Wayne County Office of the Sheriff reports the investigation into a personal injury automobile accident in the town of Ontario on Aug. 31.
Dianna Chapman, 39, of Ontario, was eastbound on Route 104. He allegedly crossed over into another lane of traffic and collided with a vehicle operated by Sarah Bresnahan, 19, of Macedon. Bresnahan lost control of her vehicle and it went off the south side of the roadway. The vehicle collided with a sign, crossed over the ditch, then struck a telephone pole before coming to a stop.
Ontario Ambulance transported Bresnahan to Rochester General Hospital for treatment.
Chapman was issued a traffic violation for moving from the lane unsafely.
Vehicle collides with metal post
WILLIAMSON — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation of a personal injury accident in the town of Williamson on Sept. 6.
June Abrams, 85, of Pease Road, was operating her vehicle in a church parking lot. The vehicle collided with a metal post causing damage.
Williamson Ambulance transported Abrams to Rochester General Hospital for minor injuries.
Man arrested for harassment, criminal contempt
WOLCOTT — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Anthony J. Marone, 18, of 5846 Delf Drive, Wolcott, for second-degree harassment and second-degree criminal contempt on Sept. 10.
Marcone was arrested at a residence in Wolcott after violating an order of protection.
He was arraigned in Wolcott Village Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail. He is to appear in court at a later date to answer the charges.
Speed a possible factor in serious accident
WILLIAMSON — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports a personal injury motor vehicle accident on Kenyon Road in Williamson on Sept. 11.
A vehicle operated by Zachary R. Bergen, 20, of Williamson, was traveling east on Kenyon Road. He lost control of the car which then overturned several times, coming to a rest in a ditch. Bergen and his three passengers, Amber Gartley, 20, of Williamson, Adam Clouser, 22, of Rochester, and Steven Shane, 24, of Williamson, were all transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, two of them by Mercy Flight with serious injuries.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police, Williamson Fire Department, Williamson Ambulance, Ontario Ambulance, Union Hill Ambulance and Walworth Ambulance.
North Rose residents arrested on warrants
ROSE — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of two North Rose residents on arrest warrants.
Ryan D. Yates, 24, of Grey Street, and Chadd J. Zerniak, 23, of S. Poplar Street, were arrested Sept. 12 for fourth-degree grand larceny for allegedly stealing a motorcycle valued at more than $1,000.
Both were arraigned in Rose Town Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail.
Man arrested for exposing himself to a child
SAVANNAH — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Timothy J.D. Newby, 33, of Seneca Falls, on Sept. 11, for endangering the welfare of a child.
In July, while staying at a residence in Savannah, Newby allegedly exposed himself to a 12-year-old female.
He was arraigned in Savannah Town Justice Court and released; he is to return at a later date to answer the charges. A temporary stay away order of protection was issued.
Man arrested for multiple violations
PALMYRA — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gregory J. Brown, 27, of 1262 Whitbeck Road, Arcadia, for aggravated driving while intoxicated, third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer and several other vehicle and traffic violations on Sept. 12.
After a Sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop Brown for allegedly speeding in the town of Palmyra, Brown fled and drove at a speed of 50 mph over the posted speed limit. Brown eventually stopped the vehicle and failed roadside field sobriety testing and was arrested.
He was arraigned in Palmyra Village Court and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail. He is to return to court at a later date to answer the charges.
Man arrested for bad checks
ONTARIO — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Aaron P. Dailey, 23, of Cortland Drive, Ontario, on Sept. 13, and charged with six counts of unlawfully issuing a bad check he had written to the Paton’s Market Place store in Sodus.
He was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Sodus Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
Man charged with forcible touching
ONTARIO — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Darren Sparks, 37, of 768 Ridge Road, Ontario, following an incident that occurred Sept. 13.
Sparks allegedly grabbed a female’s private part then offered the female money in exchange for sexual conduct. He was charged with forcible touching and third-degree patronizing a prostitute, both class A misdemeanors.
He was arraigned in Ontario Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He will appear in court at a later date to answer the charges. An Order of Protection was issued.
Man arrested for DWI
WILLIAMSON — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Eric Abry, 18, of Ridge Road, Ontario, on Sept. 14.
Patrol stopped the vehicle Abry was operating for traveling in excess of 100 mph on Route 104. Abry was subsequently arrested for driving while intoxicated with a BAC of .08 percent or above.
He was issued traffic tickets and released. He is to appear in Williamson Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
Woman arrested for petit larceny
SODUS — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Patricia A. McCarthy, 37, of 21 Mill St., Sodus, following a response to a larceny in progress at Paton’s Marketplace on Sept. 13.
McCarthy was taken into custody while at the scene. She was issued an appearance ticket and released.
She is to appear in Sodus Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
Sodus man arrested for sexual abuse
ARCADIA — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Richard L. Russell, 71, of 1779 Ross Road, Lot 81, Sodus, on Sept. 14, for endangering the welfare of a child and sexual abuse for allegedly touching a young male victim’s groin area.
He was arraigned in Lyons Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He is to appear in Arcadia Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
Woman arrested for assault with hammer
SODUS — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Florida woman on Sept. 17. Deputies responded to a 911 call of an assault on the Alman farm, located on Lake Road, Sodus.
Upon arrival, they found a man bleeding from the head. The other party involved had fled on foot. It is alleged that Emma L. Bryan, 22, of West Palm Beach, struck the victim, Everton O. Clark, 42, also of West Palm Beach, in the head with a hammer.
Clark was transported to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital by Sodus Town Ambulance where he was treated and released.
Deputies later located Emma Bryan and charged her with second-degree assault. She was arraigned in Sodus Town Court and committed to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash or $2,000 bond.
