Here’s an exchange between George Stephanopoulus and House Speaker John Boehner yesterday morning regarding a “clean” budget bill (that is, a bill devoid of any extraneous matters, like repeal of Obamacare):
STEPHANOPOULOS: … I take it from your answer that you’re not prepared to schedule a clean bill on government funding.
BOEHNER: There are not the votes in the House to pass a clean CR.
And HERE‘s Barbara Morrill’s response:
Baloney. There are more than enough Republicans who have said they would vote for a clean continuing resolution that would immediately end the disastrous Republican shutdown of the government. ...
