LYONS — The RSVP program held a food drive on the National Day of Service and Remembrance, Sept. 11.
Wayne County stepped up to help out others on that special day of charitable service. Nineteen boxes totaling 38 grocery bags of food were donated to 11 different food cupboards throughout the county.
The RSVP volunteers heard many thanks from the happy food pantry volunteers as they received the food. One sent a note saying ‘Thank you for helping feed the hungry’. Thank you to all who got involved in this worthy community service project.
The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program is administrated by Wayne County Action Program, Inc. and funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service and the N.Y.S. Office for the Aging. Visit www.waynecap.org.
