PALMYRA — On Thursday, Oct. 24, the Palmyra-Macedon Select Choir Boosters will hold their annual Silent Auction, outside of the High School Cafeteria from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m., alongside the District Choral Concert. What could be better than enjoying a night of wonderful music combined with some shopping. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Pal-Mac Select Choir’s 2014 trip to NYC and beyond that a European tour planned for the 2016.
Some of the many great items available for bidding on include: Seneca Park Zoo passes, Rock Ventures passes, homemade cookies, assorted baked goods, spa gift certificates, tricycles, movie night baskets, donut maker, restaurant gift cards, automotive services, 3-month gym membership, hair salon gift cards, homemade crafts and more. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and flowers available for your favorite singer. Payment, check or cash, is expected by the end of the concert.
The annual District Choral Concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Palmyra- Macedon High School Performing Arts Center. This concert features Con Brio, 7th Grade Chorus, and 8th Grade Chorus under the direction of Douglas Blackall, and the High School Chorus and the Select Choir under the direction of Jill Davis. Each group will perform several pieces. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Pal-Mac Select Choir has a long history of excellence including repeated “Gold with Distinction” awards at the NYSSMA Vocal Festival. Besides their regular school concerts, the Choir also presents its Madrigal Dinner each December and performs at many community events throughout the year.
