  • HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Naples boys top H-AC in OT

  • The Naples boys soccer team defeated Harley-Allendale Columbia in overtime on Saturday.

    Naples 2, H-AC 1
    Chris Barkley scored the game-winning goal for the Big Green 9:20 into the first overtime period on Saturday. Teammate Mike Hicks scored Naples' first goal and Conrad Rathbun assisted on both scores. Gawain Robinson stopped three shots
    Sam Wiley scored off a pass from Galen Everett to tie the game in the first half. Goalie Eric Tolhurst stopped seven shots.
    Midlakes 4, Bradford 1
    Alex Naeye and Tim Berry each scored a pair of goals for the Screaming Eagles. Tucker Kerrick dished out two assists and Edwin Resendiz tallied one assist.
    FOOTBALL
    Penn Yan 47, Midlakes 8
    Rion Davison threw for a touchdown, ran for two touchdowns and caught one touchdown for the Mustangs (2-4). Teammate Ben Covert returned an interception for a touchdown and Alex Madigan rushed 20 times for 164 yards and a touchdown. Derek Sisson completed 8 of 18 passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns and Bradley Voigt caught four passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns. The Screaming Eagles are 0-6.
    Aquinas 38, McQuaid 10
    Jake Zembiec led the L'il Irish (6-0) completing of 8 of 13 passes for 137 yards and three touchdowns and also rushing for an 18-yard score. Luch Pietropaolo carried the ball 10 times for 82 yards, Charlie Rist logged 16 tackles and Emilio Zuniga added seven tackles.
    Dundee 47, Mynderse 8
    Justin Neu threw for a touchdown and rushed for a touchdown for the Scots. Paul Pollack added eight carries for 63 yards and a touchdown, Justin Brace completed a 54-yard touchdown pass to Jon Huber, and Colin Prior tacked on a touchdown run for Dundee (4-2).
    Chris Plate carried 18 times for 63 yard and a touchdown for the Blue Devils.
    Hilton 21, Rush Henrietta 17
    Jack Anten completed 5 of 8 passes for 73 yards and ran for two touchdowns for the Cadets. Teammate Dillon Philmon carried the ball 34 times for 115 yards and a touchdown.
    Jared Gerbino completed 16 of 18 passes for 195 yds and a touchdown and ran for 49 yards for the Royal Comets. Teammate Joseph Ortiz caught 10 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown.
    Batavia 43, Greece Arcadia 19
    Greg Mruczek completed 5 of 7 passes for 45 yards and two touchdowns for Batavia. Teammate Jacob Radka caught two passes for 20 yards and two touchdowns.
    GIRLS SOCCER
    Waterloo 3, Midlakes 0
    The Indians posted a win in the third annual Kick Cancer game. Taylor Excell, Ariana Mastrangelo and Jazzy Cole scored goals for Waterloo (4-9-1) and Caitlin Castle stopped four shots.
    Screaming Eagles goalie Kylie DeWilde had four saves. The boys and girls soccer teams raised over $700 in joining fundraising efforts with the girls volleyball dink pink tournament on Saturday.
