Howard was born July 29, 1929, in Newark, the son of the late Edward and Edith Ridley Libbert. He worked a short while at Fold-Pac and then for the next 18 years at the Newark Developmental Center. Howard loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed spending his time at the cardio-rehab room at Newark-Wayne where it was about much more than the exercise to him; Howard found it his chance to utilize his sense humor with others.
He is survived by his son, Howard (Rebecca) of Navarre, Fla.; two daughters, Beverly Libbert and Tina (Todd Nolte) Libbert, both of Newark; three grandchildren, Wayne and Monica Nolte and Nelson Libbert; a brother, LaVerne Libbert of Newark; and a brother-in-law, Jack Bethel. Howard was predeceased by his wife, Masue, in 2007 and a sister, Joyce Bethel.
