The Ontario Honda Section 5 Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week were announced on Monday for week 6 of the high school football season.
Defensive players of the week
Vernon Harmon, a senior linebacker from East High School, had 10 solo tackles, a fumble recovery for a 28-yard TD and an interception for a 22-yard touchdown in a 50-0 win over Franklin.
Marcus Davis, a senior defensive end from Wilson, made 10 tackles with two for a loss. He also had 2.5 sacks in a 24-10 win over Edison.
Justin Patterson, a sophomore linebacker from Newark, made 11 total tackles and had one sack and one pass breakup in a 45-14 win over Pal-Mac.
Andy Underhill, a senior linebacker from Elba/Byron Bergen, had 22 total tackles, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one sack in a 34-6 loss to Attica.
Dan Welch, a senior linebacker from Avon, had 11 tackles, a quarterback hurry, a pass breakup and a 35-yard punt return for a touchdown in a 54-6 win over Hornell.
Christian Hollister, a junior linebacker from Perry, had 19 total tackles and a forced fumble in a 34-26 win over Letchworth.
Offensive players of the week
Jake Zembiec, a sophomore quarterback from Aquinas, completed 8 of 13 passes for 146 yards, averaging 18.2 yards and three touchdowns. He carried the ball 2 times for 18 yards and a touchdown in a 39-10 win over McQuaid.
Jametrius Lewis, a senior quarterback from Eastridge, carried 11 times for 121 yards. He also completed 13 of 19 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns in a 54-14 win over Honeoye Falls-Lima.
Phil Tack, a senior quarterback from Newark, completed 10 of 15 passes for 273 yards and three touchdowns. He also carried 11 times for 75 yards and two touchdowns in a 45-14 win over Pal-Mac.
Kris Sennett, a senior quarterback from Marcus Whitman, completed 7 of 10 passes for 226 yards and three touchdowns in a 47-16 win over South Seneca/Romulus.
Colin Royce, a junior running back from Warsaw, had 13 carries for 277 yards and four touchdowns in a 40-18 win over Geneseo.
Tim McCulley, a senior quarterback from Notre Dame-Batavia, completed 14 of 20 passes attempts for 226 yards and 6 touchdowns. He also had two rushes for 50 yards and a touchdown in a 66-24 win over Northstar. McCulley broke the school record for touchdowns in a season with 24.
