  • • Police: Student punches, chokes victim
    MACEDON — A Gananda student was charged Oct. 8 with third-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminal obstruction of breathing, Macedon police said.
    Macedon Police report the arrest on 10/8/2013 at 8am of Tyler A. Cruppi, 16, of Evergreen Hills Drive, Macedon, was charged following an investigation into an incident that happened at the Gananda High School on Oct. 4, when he allegedly attacked another student, police said. During the attack, Cruppi allegedly punched the other student in the face and choked him.
    He was arraigned and sent to the Wayne County Jail on $1,000 bail.
    • Sheriff’s office investigating robbery
    SODUS — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a robbery that occurred at the Valero convenience store on Route 104 in Sodus on the morning of Oct. 4.
    Deputies responded to the Valero station around 12:10 a.m. in response to a 911 call from the store. It appears that around that time a white male confronted a cashier with a handgun and demanded money. An undisclosed amount of cash was given to the robber who then fled on foot.
    The person is described as a skinny white male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall. No one was injured during the robbery. The investigation is continuing.
    • Man arrested with multiple charges
    LYONS — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested John F. Plotts III, 36, of 55 Phelps St., Lyons following a traffic stop on Shuler Street in the village of Lyons on Sept. 19.
    Deputies arrested Plotts for driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a BAC greater than .08 percent, unsafe start, unsafe tires and inadequate muffler. After further investigation, Plotts was arrested for second-degree criminal contempt after deputies determined the passenger in the vehicle he was operating had a Stay Away Order of Protection against him. Additionally, Plotts was arrested for fourth-degree criminal mischief when he damaged a pair of handcuffs while in custody at the Public Safety Building.
    Plotts was arraigned in Arcadia Town Court and committed to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail. He is scheduled to appear in Lyons Village Court and Lyons Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
    • Sodus man charged with assault
    SODUS —The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Sodus man for third-degree assault.
    Jeremy D. Grady, 34, of 22 E. Main St., Apt. 2, Sodus, was arrested Sept. 22, for charges stemming from an incident that occurred where Grady is accused of striking a Florida resident in the mouth and knocking out two teeth.
    Grady was arraigned in Rose Town Court and released on his own recognizance. He is to appear in Sodus Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
    • Man arrested for criminal trespassing, drugs
    Page 2 of 2 - PALMYRA — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested John C. Javorowsky, 19, of Hammond Road, Palmyra, on Oct. 5, for second-degree criminal trespass and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
    It is alleged that Javorowsky walked into a stranger’s home on Vienna Road and had to be forcefully removed by occupants of the home. Deputies also alleged that when they were taking him into custody, they located 43 morphine pills on his person.
    Javorowsky was arraigned in Marion Town Court and remanded to Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail. He will return to Palmyra Town Court at a later date for further court proceedings.
