NORTH ROSE — Election for members of the Board of Directors, program reports and a presentation by Dave Eichorn, “Climate Change with a Meteorological Perspective”, will highlight this year’s special event. Cornell Cooperative Extension Wayne County will be celebrating its volunteers and staff at Dockers Restaurant, North Rose, on Friday, Nov. 1. The cost is $15. Pre-registration required by Oct. 25, please call 331-8415.
During the annual meeting, votes will be taken for the Board of Directors. There are five open positions on the Board of Directors and three nominees, with one additional nominee to be presented at the floor. Information on each of the nominees can be found on our website. Nominations can also be taken from the floor with pre-verification. Registration, with dinner to follow, starts at 6:00pm.
The annual meeting starts promptly at 7:15pm. If you are not attending the dinner, please arrive at this time. All persons who are county residents, at least 18 years of age, and have attended or participated in any CCE event/program/committee are eligible to vote. There are slightly different requirements to be nominated. Please call the office to verify eligibility. You do not have to attend the dinner portion of the event to vote. CCE is an equal opportunity program and all community members are invited to this event.
Guest Speaker, Dave Eichorn, is a meteorologist with over 30 years of experience. He was formerly with WSYR TV, Syracuse for 20 years. Dave currently works for and has an adjunct position with Onondaga Community College. He has won several awards for severe weather coverage of the superstorm of March 1993, Hurricane Gloria and for educating the public in the science of meteorology.
