  • PENFIELD — Take a little bit of folk roots/Americana and mix it with acoustic blues, vintage jazz, and Western swing, and you end up with Annie and the Hedonists.
Annie and the Hedonists, who recently appeared in the Fall Folk Fest concert series at Naples’ Bristol Valley Theater, will appear in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Rochester Christian Reformed Church, 2750 Atlantic Ave., Penfield. The concert is part of the Golden Link Folk Singing Society’s concert series.
The four-piece Albany-based band is comprised of Annie Rosen (lead vocals), Jonny Rosen (guitar and vocals), Peter Davis (clarinet, tenor guitar, piano, vocals) and Don Young (upright bass, vocals). They interpret the songs of the great female blues artists of the 1920s-1940s, such as Billie Holiday, Ma Rainey, Bessie Smith and Memphis Minney.
Tickets are $18 ($15 Golden Link members, $10 students, free for children 12 and younger). They’re available in advance online through Showclix and at the door. For more information, visit www.goldenlink.org.
