  • Nationwide prescription drug 'Take-Back Day' this Saturday

  • On Saturday, Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. WayneNET (Wayne Narcotic Enforcement Team) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will offer the opportunity to prevent drug abuse and theft of expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs from their homes.
    Bring your expired, unused and unwanted medications for disposal to the following locations;
    Galen’s Express Lane, 17 Sodus Street, Clyde - Clyde Police Department Loson’s Big M, 33 Forgham Street, Lyons - Lyons Police Department Macedon Public Safety Building, 1620 Wayne port Road, Macedon - Macedon Police Department Wegman’s, 800 West Miller Street, Newark - Newark Police Department Williamson SP Barrack, 3957 Route 104, Williamson – NYSP Williamson Palmyra Police Station, 144 East Main Street, Palmyra - Palmyra Police Department Sodus Village Highway, 39 Gaylord Street, Sodus - Sodus Police Department Ontario WCSO Substation, 1850 Ridge Road, Ontario - Sheriff’s Office
    The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Law enforcement will be at all locations to receive and dispose of old and/or no longer used medication and prescription drugs.
    “WayneNet and the Drug Enforcement Administration provide this disposal service to reduce the abuse of prescription medication,” Virts said. “If you have prescription drugs or medications that are no longer needed or used, please use this disposal service to rid your home of any unneeded medications.”
