  • NEWARK — The Newark Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify a woman caught on tape robbing a convenience store employee at gunpoint.
The robbery occurred at the Arrow Mart convenience store at 150 N. Main St. in the village. Investigators stated around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, a white female entered the store wearing black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and what appears in surveillance videos something over her face. After asking for cigarettes, the woman allegedly pulled what appeared to be a semi-automatic pistol out of her pocket and held up in the clerk’s face. She demanded money from the clerk before fleeing, police said.
She was last seen fleeing north on North Main Street.
Police are still reviewing surveillance videos that captured the robbery. Police are asking the public for help in identifying the person who is holding the gun in the surveillance photo.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Investigator Jay Warren at the Newark Police Department at 331-3701.
