  • Lollypop Farm invites the community to attend an informational session on animal cruelty investigations on Monday, Oct. 28, at 6:30 p.m.
The open question and answer session will be held in the Training & Education Center of Lollypop Farm at 99 Victor Road in Fairport.
Alice Calabrese, president and CEO of Lollypop Farm, and Humane Society law enforcement officers will talk about and answer questions on animal cruelty investigations. Julie Hahn, chief of the non-violent felony bureau, from the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office will also address New York state statutes and how they apply to the prosecution of animal cruelty cases.
“Several recent cases have generated questions from community about the process of investigating animal cruelty and Lollypop Farm’s role and authority in responding to animal cruelty complaints,” said. Calabrese of Lollypop Farm. “While we can’t disclose specifics on ongoing investigations, our hope is to shed more light in general about our Humane Law Enforcement Department, the regulations that govern investigations, and our collaborations with other enforcement agencies and prosecutors.”
No registration is required for the free information session. For more information, call (585) 223-1330 x236 or email mchargue@lollypop.org.
