  • PALMYRA — The Pal-Mac JV Boys Soccer Team along with their coach, Ron Albert, demonstrated The Pal-Mac Way outside of their own community on Sept. 21.
The Pal-Mac Way; respect, caring, citizenship, and responsibility was shown through soccer skills by the members of the Pal-Mac JV Boys Soccer Team. The team and their coach presented a free soccer clinic in the City of Rochester early this fall. Children ages 7-12 were taught skill development, strategies, and the fundamentals of soccer through drill and skill stations organized by the athletes.
Despite the rain there were over 20 participants who rotated through the soccer stations and then had the opportunity to have a mixed scrimmage with the players from Pal-Mac. In addition, the JV boys soccer players spoke to the participants about what it means to follow The Pal-Mac Way throughout the day and while on the soccer field.
Student athletes donated gently used soccer items to the youth from Norton Street and Joseph Avenue in the City. Wegmans donated juice boxes and snacks for both the athletes and participants.
Through character building activities the Pal-Mac Boys JV Soccer Team helped encourage good sportsmanship and citizenship while teaching soccer skills through the spirit of The Pal-Mac Way. — Kim Gallina
