MACEDON — Police are investigating what lead up to a crash involving a Wayne Central School District bus driver Wednesday, Oct. 30.
Macedon police arrested Julynn Criscuolo, 45, of Sodus, on Nov.1 and charged her with second-degree vehicular assault, driving while ability impaired by a combination of drugs and alcohol, failure to keep right and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle following a head-on crash on Route 350 on Oct. 30. Criscuolo was traveling south on Route 350 around 6:25 p.m. when she crossed into the northbound lane and struck a vehicle being driven by Candace C. Aldrich, 64, of Farmington, police said. Cricuolo was allegedly intoxicated due to a combination of alcohol and prescription pain medication.
Aldrich was seriously injured in the accident and transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where she is in satisfactory condition.
Just hours before the crash, school district officials said they pulled Criscuolo off her bus at the Wayne Central bus garage where she worked. Superintendent Renee Garrett said because this is a personnel matter, she couldn’t say what Criscuolo's current status is with the district. Garrett did confirm there is now an internal investigation.
Criscuolo was arraigned in Macedon Town Court and sent to the Wayne County Jail on $50,000 cash or $100,000 bail bond. She is scheduled to reappear in court on Nov. 26.
