Wayne County Office of Tourism invites residents to share in the “Holiday Traditions” guide. Tourism teamed up with local tree growers, specialty shops, restaurants, museums and wineries to create the 2013 Wayne County Holiday Guide - everything needed to make the holidays a success.
Need the perfect tree? Need a special gift? Want to plan a romantic evening? Answers can be found in this year’s Holiday guide. The guide features five tree growers: Urtz’s Evergreens and Franke’s Nursery in Marion; Keymel’s Christmas Trees in Walworth, The Apple Shed in Newark and Alexander’s Christmas Tree Farm in Ontario.
For holiday shopping, plan a visit to Artisan’s Loft in Pultneyville, The Emporium Village in Ontario, Heluva Good Country Cheese Store in Sodus, Kitchen’s Country Market in North Rose, Lukacs Pottery Studio in Sodus Point and Mackenzie’s in Palmyra. You can plan a stop for lunch or dinner at The Franklin House Tavern in Sodus Point or Orbaker’s Drive-In in Williamson.
The Museum of Wayne County History will be hosting a Holiday Boutique on Dec. 6 through 8. Coffee, dessert and lunch will be available plus some great shopping. Spend some time browsing the exhibits and displays. Historic Palmyra is home to five separate museums all decked out for the holidays. Their Holiday Bazaar is Nov. 21 and 22. Check out the Historic Sites of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Free guided tours and visitor center.
For a special treat visit three of our local wineries, JD Wine Cellars at Long Acre Farms in Macedon, Young Sommer Winery in Williamson and Thorpe Vineyard on Chimney Heights Blvd. near Lake Ontario.
Mark your calendar with the special events and Christmas Open Houses included in the Holiday Guide.
