Local Rochester media recently had the chance to tour two true-to-life mock-up rooms of the future Golisano Children’s Hospital. The interior mock-ups  - a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) room and a medical/surgical room – are on an unfinished floor of the Wilmot Cancer Center. The rooms have been built to the exact specifications of the architects and interior designers so that staff can ensure the choices being made are the best possible for our region’s children and families.

See the design of the rooms in these clips from our friends at our local stations and read an interview with Golisano Children’s Hospital Pediatrician-in-Chief Nina F. Schor, M.D., from WXXI:

The new $145-million Golisano Children’s Hospital will be eight floors and approximately 245,000 square feet of space. Two floors of the new building will be dedicated to medical and surgical care and one floor will be for the NICU. The new hospital will house 52 general care rooms and at least 60 NICU beds.

Play and normalcy are emphasized through our hallways, lobby and room designs, along with a toddler playroom and a new two-story Playdeck on the seventh floor. Overlooking the Playdeck will be a school room and a teen lounge.

Explore our new building and learn more about naming opportunities for rooms like these. For more information, contact Scott Rasmussen at (585) 273-5932.
