Chronicles of an Iron Belle
Hey there, my name is Kerry (that’s me in the picture up there) glad you are here. I have been a health nut for a while but never truly realized my passion for it until a few years ago. I have been a massage therapist for over ten years and known for my ability to ‘torture’ people. The CIA wasn’t hiring so I pursued an Infant Massage Therapy certification in an attempt to figure out when things start going awry as we develop and stopping them before they cause trouble when we are adults. Person after person would come to me seeking relief from their pain and all I could do was iron it out with a massage, the rest of the work was up to them and I soon found that not too many go to the gym and know what to do or have a personal trainer who gives them a good program. A major contributor to this issue is the lack of communication from the client to the professional out of ignorance of their own body all because we are so busy with the other demands of life to even listen to what our body is telling us. This blog will give you that understanding.

All that background stuff brought me to today: a certified personal trainer who LOVES kettlebell training (my fave move is the Turkish Get Up), loves running, and loves acting like a kid (I have three!). I hope you enjoy the journey with me as we tackle understanding our bodies and how to get the most of your time at the gym, beat injury, figure out what muscles are doing what, and have a few laughs along the way. Understand that I am a massage therapist and personal trainer, not a medical doctor so the advice I share here is strictly that: advice. To see the kind of work I do (with my hunk of a hubby) click here.

Please drop me a line though, I would love to hear all about you!

Take care,

Kerry M. Davis LMT, CIMT, CPT

To quote Ufer: “I just ache, in every ounce of my body!!”

OFFENSIVE CHAMPION

DEVIN GARDNER – New 98 has the Heart of a Champion and the way he gutted through the second half on Saturday was very inspiring to say the least. He left it all on the field against the Bucks – much like Old 98 did in 1940.
1 98 Touch
By the way, did you happen to notice how eerily similar his option TD run in the northwest endzone corner was to Ricky Leach’s option TD against OSU in 1977?  Nice!

DEFENSIVE CHAMPION

BEN GEDEON – His play in the first half helped stymie OSU’s over-confident offense and helped make the Buckeyes realize what kind of a dog fight they were in. All of a sudden, Michigan has decent quality depth at linebacker – finally!

SPECIAL TEAMS CHAMPION

ENTIRE KICK TEAM UNIT – Let me tell you right now – when somebody bitch-slaps you in your own house, like OSU did in the second quarter, you BETTER punch back! I don’t condone fighting at all, but once the gloves come off, BRING IT! Kudos for the entire kick team for sending a message to the Buckeyes that the days of UM rolling over are DONE!
1 Hoke Regulates
To me, those ejections were as team galvanizing as scoring 21 points on OSU in the first half. I think Michigan turned a corner with that skirmish and hopefully it continues through to the bowl game next month.

SPARKPLUG

JEREMY GALLON – You do realize that Michigan will have to replace their all-time leader in receptions next year, don’t you?   Did you ever guess that was going to happen when #10, I mean, #21, er, Jeremy Gallon graduates this year? Big plays and big shoes to fill for sure.
2 Gallon snag
Hats off to you, Jeremy 10-Gallon-Hat!

UNIFORM CHAMP

NEW ADIDAS MAIZE & BLUE CLEATS – Adidas has come out with some odd ideas for UM’s uniforms over the past few years – funky socks as well as a particular white bumble-bee jersey that I hope never returns certainly come to mind. But this time they got it right with the new shoes that everyone was wearing on Saturday. They harken back to Billy Taylor’s tricked out Pumas he wore some 40+ years ago. I dig the look!

FEDORA FAN

TUNNEL-AREA FANS – I normally frown on those fans who shout down at the bench or at opposing players…but to those fans who got in Hall’s craw..
HALL BIRD …I salute you !
