NEWARK The Newark-Arcadia Historical Society's Annual Holiday Open Houses take place concurrently on Sunday, Dec. 8 from noon to 4 p.m., at both the Marbletown Schoolhouse and the Newark-Arcadia Museum.
The 1876 Marbletown Schoolhouse will have arts & crafts and holiday vendors, as well as a bake sale to benefit the N-AHS. The charming one-room brick school will be decked out for the holidays and warmed by the wood stove. The schoolhouse is located at 6631 Miller Rd. From Rt. 88-S, take Silver Hill Rd. east to the Miller & Marbletown Rds. intersection.
The Newark-Arcadia Museum will be also be decked out for the holidays. Visit the Museum Gift Shop where you will find two popular DVDs (Remembering Downtown & Newark in 1942), along with local history books, and more.
Come and see the 2013-14 exhibits: Hallagan Mfg. Co., Newark Post Office, and "Shoes, Shops & Sidewalk Sales - Downtown: As Time Goes By". The Museum, located at 120 High St. in Newark, is open year round, on Saturdays, from 1 to 3 p.m.
