  • With 12 returning starters, the Midlakes wrestling team is in a good position to continue its success in the Finger Lakes, Section 5 and New York.
The Screaming Eagles had an unbelievable season in 2012-13, going 26-0. Midlakes won the Finger Lakes East championship, Section 5 Class BBB team championship, New York State Division 2 team championship, and New York State Division 2 Dual Meet championship.
Newark and Pal-Mac will look to challenge Midlakes in the league and sectionals.
In Monroe County, Victor is coming off winning the Monroe County Division 3 championship and Section 5 Class A championship.
Midlakes' Sean Peacock, Ralph Mateo III, Hammond Raes and Derian Woodard, Pal-Mac's Max Lloyd, and Red Jacket's Andrew Ogrodowski are all returning sectional champions.

COACH'S COMMENT: Jacob Ordiway has the skills, work ethic and wrestling prowess to win sectionals and compete at the state qualifier. Mitchel Robarge has matured and grown physically to better compete with his opponents. Katlin Wells is probably the most skilled wrestler and has beaten a lot of the wrestlers that she will face over the summer while competing. My expectations for the team this season are high but realistic. We are building a program with 13 kids currently on the roster. As a head coach, I am working on a mind shift and refuse to lose attitude. If we build a foundation with pillars of strength, we can add our youth and modified wrestlers into the mix and continue to grow the team and compete for some league titles and have sectional, state qualifier and state tournament success in the future.
