  • CANANDAIGUA — The Finger Lakes Chorale will team up with two other choral groups based at Finger Lakes Community College to present holiday concerts ending with the rousing “Hallelujah” chorus from Handel’s “Messiah” on Dec. 14 and 15.
Show times for “A Holiday Mélange” are 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, in the auditorium at the FLCC main campus, 3325 Marvin Sands Dr., Canandaigua.
Both concerts are free and open to the public; donations will be accepted for the Dr. A. John Walker Music Award for FLCC music and music recording students.
The Finger Lakes Chorale, an 80-member chorus directed by FLCC adjunct music professor Dennis Maxfield, will begin the evening with “White Christmas,” “We Need a Little Christmas” and other popular songs before changing gears later in the program with arrangements of hymns such as “Ave Maria” and “In the Bleak Midwinter.”
Also performing are the College Singers, a student group directed by Ines Draskovic, FLCC assistant professor of music, and the Finger Lakes Camerata, a 24-member group also directed by Dennis Maxfield.
The full program is available on FLCCconnects.com.
Draskovic will accompany the Finger Lakes Chorale on piano; Anthony D’Agostino will accompany the Finger Lakes Camerata; and EunMi Ko, adjunct instructor at FLCC, will accompany the College Singers. In addition, string instrumentalists will accompany the singers on some of the selections.
