  • For about four years, the American Legion Riders 394 of Williamson have wanted to do something to help veterans, and their family members, in distress within Wayne County. They soon formed the ‘Food Boxes for Veterans and their Families’ program.
The Food Box deliveries take place four times a year: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and Fourth of July. The list of candidates for this program are obtained from the Wayne County Veterans Affairs office and from information sent to the Riders from Legion Posts. Christmas Food Boxes are going out NOW!
The Legion Riders 394 are men and women of the American Legion, SONS of the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary Units. Although this program is coordinated through the American Legion Riders 394 of Williamson, they service ALL of Wayne County. This program is supported by Breen’s in Williamson. The Riders could not do what they do without Breen’s on-going help!
In the most recent 12 month period, expenses for this program totaled over $4,000. The Riders are sorry to say that these finances could not support all the veterans in need in the County. The goal of this program is to help the veterans that have defended all of us, and now find themselves in need.
To help fill a box for a veteran and their family, donate all or part of the $55 needed per box. These funds are needed immediately.
Please contact Paul Goodell, American Legion Rider 394 Director at pgoodellALR@gmail.com or (585) 752-8583. Checks can be mailed directly to the American Legion Riders 394, Williamson Post, P.O. Box 180, Williamson, NY 14589. Please write ‘food box’ in the memo section of your check.
