  • COACH OF THE YEAR
    Bob Stewart
    Honeoye
    Years coaching: 17
Season Highlights: The preseason trip to Ontario County Park, yoga with Leslee from Tune Yoga, the trip to Marathon XC invite, many team members reaching personal goals and encouraging new runners in their first year on our team, winning the Wayne-Finger Lakes league title for the boys, and the New York State Scholar athlete award for both boys and girls teams this year.
What makes this team memorable: This was certainly one of the best teams that we have had over the years. They support and encourage each other, make great decisions, and work hard each day. It was a pleasure for our coaching staff to come to practice each day. This team had an amazing perspective on what sports really are about and carried that throughout their day. Besides the wins and loses, this team demonstrated such outstanding character and sportsmanship.
Favorite part about coaching: My favorite part about coaching is watching young people set goals and work hard to achieve them. The lessons that young people learn through sports will carry throughout their lives.
