This year the County Board welcomes three new Supervisors – Town of Marion Supervisor Monica Deyo, Town of Walworth Supervisor Patti Marini and Town of Ontario Supervisor John Smith. Marion Supervisor Monica Deyo is actually not “new” in that she was the Marion Town Supervisor from 1992 through 2001. However, decided to return to public service in 2014.
The 2014 Standing Committees and Committee Chairs are as follows: Finance – Wolcott Supervisor Kim Park; Public Safety – Sodus Supervisor Steve LeRoy; Public Works – Palmyra Supervisor Ken Miller; Economic Development and Planning; – Butler Supervisor Dave Spickerman; Government Operations – Huron Supervisor Laurie Crane; Health and Medical Services – Galen Supervisor Steve Groat; and Human Services – Lyons Supervisor Brian Manktelow.
If you wish to recycle a Christmas tree you can drop it off at the Wayne County Highway Department located at 7227 Route 31 in Lyons or the Wayne County Soil & Conservation District Shop, 8838 Old Ridge Road in Alton NY, until Friday, Jan. 17. Look for signage at these locations with instructions on how to receive a free tree next spring for transplanting.
From Feb. 3 to 5 County Administrator Jim Marquette and I will be attending the 2014 New York Association of Counties (NYSAC) Legislative Conference in Albany.
