• Spencer Graham receives Army National Guard promotion
Spencer Graham of Newark was was promoted to rank of Private in the New York Army National Guard.
Graham was promoted in recognition of his capability for additional responsibilities and leadership. He serves in the Headquarters Company, 27th Brigade Special Troops Battalion.
Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability and development potential.
• Orr joins Tastefully Simple Inc.
Dorothy Orr of Williamson is now an independent consultant with Tastefully Simple Inc., a direct sales company featuring easy-to-prepare foods.

• May honored for outstanding academic achievement at The Citadel
Austin Perry May was recently honored for outstanding academic achievement at The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.
During the fall semester of the 2013-2014 academic year, Austin earned one of the college's top academic honors - a Gold Star. Gold Star honors are presented to students who achieve a 3.7 grade point average or higher during a semester's course work. Students that achieve Gold Star recognition are also placed on The Citadel's Dean's List.
At The Citadel, Austin is seeking a BS in Physical Education .

• Thorp earns Army National Guard promotion
The New York Army National Guard promoted Joshua Thorp of Macedon to the rank of private.
Thorp serves with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 27th Brigade Special Troops Battalion. He was promoted in recognition of his capability for additional responsibilities and leadership.
Thorp's promotion was based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability and developmental potential.
• White graduates from basic training
Air Force Airman Eugene L. White Jr. graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio.
White completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
The son of Charlene Crawford of Sodus and grandson of Jeanette Crawford of Williamson, White is a 2013 graduate of Sodus High School.
• Niles to deliver Boy Scouts of America Report to the Nation
Scott Niles, 13, of Williamson was chosen as one of nine Boy Scouts to present the organization's annual Report to the Nation Feb. 22-27 in Washington D.C.
Page 2 of 2 - The Report to the Nation highlights the achievements of the Boy Scouts of America in 2013. While visiting Washington D.C. the delegation will visit the U.S. Cabinet, House and Senate leadership as well as the White House, CIA, Pentagon and Supreme Court.
Niles is a member of the Seneca Waterways Council Troop 125. He will travel with his father, Stephen Niles. He was chosen to represent the Boy Scouts as an example of the Scout Oath and Scouting spirit.
