The Newark Volunteer Fire Department conducted their annual inspection for the Village Board on Oct. 13.
Mayor Peter Blandino and the village trustees all expressed their appreciation and dedication of the men and women of the 100 percent volunteer fire department. After the inspection was completed of all motorized apparatus and equipment, Fire Chief Mike Colacino thought it would be an appropriate time to dedicate the fire department’s newest engine, a 1,500 GPM Pierce Pumper for the Deluge Hose Co. No. 1. The truck is presently in service and is now fully equipped.
Firefighters and everyone attending enjoyed music by the Savannah Cellar Savers Band and dinner.
