On Oct. 25, the Newark Rotary Club presented a check for $250 to Johanna Fenyn and Bill Doebler, representing the community Free Lunch program.

Free lunches are served Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, located at E. Miller and Colton Avenue in Newark. Approximately 25 lunches are served each day.

Most of the food served is provided by Food Link. Bakery items are donated by Wegmans and donated clothing is also distributed.

The Check from the Newark Rotary Club will be used to purchase food, buy equipment and supplies, and pay other expenses.

The free lunch program, which has been in operation for 20 years, is staffed by volunteers from various churches in Newark.
