Dr. Adriane Trout, a family practice physician at Gananda Family Practice, a Rochester General Medical Group practice, will be featured on “Monsters Inside Me” on “Animal Planet” Friday, Nov. 23 at 8 p.m.
“Monsters Inside Me” features true life stories about extremely difficult-to-diagnose medical cases that are often life-altering for the patient involved. Dr. Trout was the first practitioner in the U.S. whose diligence led to a diagnosis of Dengue Fever in one of her patients. Dengue Fever is an exotic disease that hadn’t been reported locally since 1945, and in Florida, it hadn’t been seen since the 1930s. Subsequently, at least 28 patients in Florida were also diagnosed and treated.
