Lynne Ward and Janice Gibala-Broxholm of Roosevelt Children's Center-Wayne ARC accepted a check from Newark Rotary President, Bob Bendix for $1,055 that will be used to purchase a new audiometer.
The new audiometer will replace an 11-year-old unit and have the latest technology. The Speech Pathology Department at Roosevelt Children's Center routinely screens and monitors all children attending the facility for hearing and middle ear status. Even a slight loss of hearing can affect a child's ability to communicate and understand the world around him or her.
The Roosevelt Children’s Center provides Early Intervention and Preschool services to children birth to 5 years in a variety of home, community and center based options. One of the services provided to all the children in their programs is hearing screening.
