The Salvation Army of Greater Rochester announced today that it surpassed their goal for the Red Kettle campaign for the second year in a row.
The Red Kettle Campaign raised $597,014, with a goal of $560,000.
"We are just elated and so very grateful and appreciative of the Greater Rochester community," Randy Orr, executive director at the Salvation Army of Greater Rochester said.
Before last year, the last time The Salvation Army of Greater Rochester made its goal was 2005.
Funds raised in the Red Kettle Campaign are used to support 50,000 people each year who rely on The Salvation Army for food, homeless shelters, Disaster Services, Emergency & Family Services, Holiday Assistance, youth enrichment programs, and much more.
