Local quilter Marcia DeCamp of Palmyra is included in the 32nd annual juried quilt show, Quilts=Art=Quilts, at the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn.
Her quilt, Jet Trails #11, is one of 77 quilts by 61 artists chosen for the 2012 exhibit. Jurors Jonathan Holstein, Jan Myers Newbury, and Leslie Joan Riley reviewed 331 entries by 190 quilters from around the world, including Australia, Canada, Germany, Israel, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The exhibition opened on Oct. 28 and will be on view through Jan. 6, 2013.
The Schweinfurth Art Center has long recognized the importance of quilts as a visual medium, and has been presenting quilts in an art gallery setting since 1981. Each year, the Art Center receives hundreds of entries for this annual juried exhibition of contemporary quilts. Quilts are selected for their overall visual impact, design, and originality by a panel of three jurors.
