Arcadia Corporation expanded its operations recently following the closing of Rose City Glass.

Arcadia Glass, Inc. came into being with the addition of former Rose City Glass employees Lisa Brown and Duane Fisher.

“We were glad to see Arcadia Glass, Inc. pick up former customers,” Brown said.

“They closed and we took over serving the people of Wayne County.” said owner Kathryn Roberts of Arcadia. “We used to do business with them, so I am glad we were able to add their former business to ours.”

Arcadia Glass is located at 6812 Route 31 East in Newark.

“We want to let the people of Wayne County know that we are here to serve them,” Roberts said.

Arcadia Glass does car windshields, window repair, home windows, screening, table tops, etc., the things that Rose City Glass did.

“Lisa and Duane have many years experience in the glass company,” said Roberts. “We also have a free lancer, Juan Otiz, occasionally helping, who also was at Rose City.

“We’re starting to build a client base to do windshields. We just got qualified to work with insurance companies. We’re moving right along and picking up that work.”

At the facility, they have an enclosed structure big enough to house trucks, buses, vans, RVs, and boats.
The company has been in business for 35 years as a bus company.

“It was important to branch out,” said Roberts. “We had had that relationship with Rose City where we took our vehicles there, so we thought it would be a good match for us when they closed.”

Arcadia consists of three incorporated operations: the bus company, the glass company, and motels and apartments.

“They are each incorporated separately, so we have Arcadia Transportation, Arcadia Glass, and Arcadia Motel,” Roberts said.

“We incorporated Arcadia Glass in April, but we did not open until September.”

Fisher also does vinyl replacement windows, windows design, and sand blasting.

“We do tonneau covers for vehicles,” Roberts said.

“We just started installing glass doors for showers as we’re trying to add the home market for people, taking care of their home window and glass needs. We do mirrors also.”

Roberts also has her Women’s Business Enterprise  (WBE).
