With the end of the deer-hunting season, the members of Lyons Elks Lodge No. 869 assisted with the deer hide collection program to aid with disabled veterans. Local Lodge Hide Collection Coordinator George Wunder announced that 90 plus hides were collected through the generosity of hunters in the Lyons area.
The hides collected by Lyons Elks Lodge No. 869 have been sold and the monies will be used to assist the Canandaigua Veterans Hospital for in-patient and out-patient physical and occupational therapy program activities. The Elks conduct this program at no expense to the Veterans or taxpayers.
The Elks also wish to thank all area hunters for their generous assistance with this program.
