Greece man charged in string of burglaries

A Greece man has been charged in four burglaries throughout the town.

James DiNapoli, 41, of Lyncrest Drive was charged last Thursday, Feb. 21 with four counts of felony third-degree burglary, two counts of felony third-degree criminal mischief, one count of third-degree felony grand larceny, one county of felony third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, three counts of misdemeanor petit larceny and two counts of misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal mischief.

DiNapoli is linked to four burglaries in December and January, according to police, at Aura Lounge, 1485 Mt. Read Blvd.; Locker Room Sports, 2184 W. Ridge Road; Romeo’s Restaurant, 2500 Ridgeway Ave.; and Philly Steakout, 1575 Long Pond Road. Cash registers and/or their contents were stolen from the locations, according Greece Police Lt. Jason Helfer.

Personnel from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the Gates Police Department, and the Rochester Police Department assisted in the investigation. Gates Police also charged DiNapoli with related burglaries occurring in Gates.

DiNapoli was arraigned and remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
