Crash snarls traffic on 390 in Gates

One man was injured in a one-car crash Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 390 in Gates.

Frank J. Andrews, 65, of 138 Rossmore St. Gates, flipped the car he was driving at about 3 p.m. Wednesday on 390 near Lyell Avenue,  state troopers reported. Andrews was trapped in the car for about 10 minutes and suffered a laceration to his head. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where his condition is currently under evaluation, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Traffic on 390 was reduced to one lane in the northbound direction, causing traffic delays Wednesday afternoon just before the commuter rush. Responders are investigating the cause of the crash, according to trooper Alan Horst.
