Newark —
At 9 a.m. Feb. 11, members of the Wayne County boards of education will hold a presentation concerning state aid for their school districts.
Considering the recent release of the executive budget by Gov. Andrew Cuomo, school board members remain concerned about the lack of state funding allocated to low-budget schools, which includes every school district in Wayne County. The school districts wish to better inform the public of this, and how more substantial funding is needed to create better educational opportunities for the districts' students.
The presentation will take place at the Newark High School auditorium, located at 625 Pierson Ave., in Newark. It is free and open to the public.
For more information, contact Yvonne MacTaggart, president of Newark Central School District Board of Education, at ymactaggart@newark.k12.ny.us.
